Matthew Oransky, Ph.D, a psychologist at the Mount Sinai Adolescent Health Center, was recognized at the Queens Borough President LGBT Pride Event on June 29, 2016 for his work with transgender and questioning young people. Dr. Oransky was nominated for the honor by New York City Council Majority Leader Jimmy Van Bramer.

Dr. Oransky co-directs the Mount Sinai Adolescent Health Center’s Psychology Training Program and is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics and Psychiatry at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Dr. Oransky co-directs of the Mount Sinai Adolescent Health Center’s Psychology Training Program. Dr. Oransky has participated in building and coordinating Mount Sinai Adolescent Health Center’s integrated transgender health service for transgender adolescents and young adults. In this role, he provides individual, family and group therapy to some of New York City’s most vulnerable youth, low-income transgender youth of color. In addition, he supervises and trains other therapists in providing gender-affirming services to transgender youth.  Dr. Oransky also specializes in working with youth and families who have experienced traumatic events.
